About Dr. Robison

General Background

Welcome! I’m Dr. Tera Robison, a licensed clinical psychologist in Reno, Nevada, and the owner and founder of Mountain Springs Psychological Services. I am a fifth-generation Nevadan, born and raised in the “The Biggest Little City in the World.” I founded Mountain Springs Psychological Services to offer my community a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing games with my friends, and spending quality time with my fiancé, family, and two chunky cats.

Educational Background

I earned my Bachelor of Science (BS) at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, with a double major in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology (NBB) and Psychology. I completed my Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Psychology and my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.

Training Experiences

As part of my graduate training, I completed my clerkship and first practicum training experience at Biltmore Psychology Services, a private practice in Phoenix, Arizona. As a practicum student there, I performed psychological assessments for disability evaluations for DES, participated in an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) externship, provided EFT couples counseling, provided Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) for adults, and became a certified Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist.

I completed my second year of practicum training at Stride Psychological Services, a private practice in Tempe, Arizona. There, I conducted psychodiagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults, and gained special expertise in ADHD and Autism diagnostic evaluations as well as pre-surgical psychological evaluations. I also provided individual outpatient EMDR, EFT, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for children, adolescents, and adults.

The following year, I completed my internship through the National Psychology Training Consortium at Burrell Behavioral Health, a community mental health center in Springfield, Missouri. While at Burrell, I completed rotations at the Burrell intake center and served as a member of both the outpatient individual therapy and outpatient psychological assessment teams. Additionally, I provided individual and group therapy at Youth CSTAR, an inpatient rehabilitation clinic for adolescents recovering from substance use disorders. I also served as a member of the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) comprehensive treatment team, which provided individual and group therapy to people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and comorbid diagnoses.

Upon completing my internship and following graduation, I returned to Stride Psychological Services for my post-doctoral fellowship, where I resumed my previous roles as a therapist and evaluator. Additionally, I supervised practicum students from Midwestern University.
